Hello,
Arena game - unlike casual games - automatically accept queued games, regardless if everyone is actually present. This is understandable from a certain point of view: in competitive gaming, you shouldn't be able to pick you opponents, as they are shown when accepting a casual game.
However, I've noticed several people - including myself - missing out on their Arena games simply because they haven't noticed that the games have started. This can be due to several reasons, some of which can be attributed to the player being AFK, while others can not. E.g. playing without sounds (for obvious reasons e.g. during quiet time) or with multiple tabs open (which sometimes miss out on sound ques, I think).
The problem is regardless simply avoidable. Also, from an opponents perspective it's better for the game not to start at all, instead of having to wait ~3 minutes to kick someone out. My simple solution for the problem is:
Extend the "Accept game"-feature into Arena game (as on casual games), but simply remove the showing of opponents in the accept screen. I'm sure this would greatly improve the BGA experience by removing unneccesary downtime for everyone with no apparent downside.
Thanks for your great work guys! -

This one hides who the opponent is so that doesn't happen.
I'm tired of this AFK stuff happening. (boardgamearena.com/gamereview?table=638192809 )
